BOORIMA
This 2-bedroom apartment in the heart of Cronulla was purchased in its original 1960's condition. The brief was to increase the amount of usable space, incorporate internal laundry facilities and create flexible, multi-use spaces that provided a sanctuary for the owners.
The overall space, although generous in size in some areas, was very tight on space in others which prompted a complete overhaul of the layout. The kitchen was relocated to the opposite side of the apartment, walls were demolished to open up the space and maximise natural light, and the separate WC and bathroom were combined into one harmonious space which allowed for the inclusion of laundry facilities. Ample amounts of custom designed joinery ensured every inch of the space was utilised for extra storage.
Considering the apartments location and close link to the ocean, the neutral palette consists of timber, muted greys and soft touches to create an open yet calm space and allow the owners to embrace their growing collection of curiosities and treasures.
